Cancer is not one disease, but hundreds, that develops when multiple mutations in a cell result in escape of the cellular proofreading system. In addition, these cells further acquire properties that make them immortal and difficult to eradicate by state of the art therapy, in many cases resulting in poor prognosis for the patient.
MAD for Cancer is a translational cancer program based on a multifocal strategy to fight cancer. By combining eight different areas of expertise (Proteomics, Genomics, Targeted Therapy, Molecular Diagnostics, Chemical Biology, Stromal Biology, psychological Resilience and Cancer Stem Cells), we will come one step closer to conquering cancer.
